When applying to colleges I had no clue what I wanted to do for a living, being that my dreams of becoming a pro athlete were pretty far fetched do to my lack of talent. When I was accepted to Fresno State (GO DOGS!), I declared as a business major because it felt like the safest move. It took me two and a half years to realize that business was not for me (here I am owning my own business), so I switched majors to Kinesiology Exercise Science.
1. Avoiding Desk Job Monotony: Sitting at a desk all day can feel repetitive and uninspiring. As a personal trainer, I get to be up and moving, which keeps me energized and engaged. Instead of staring at a computer screen, I'm interacting with clients, demonstrating exercises, and exploring different workout routines. This variety not only makes each day more enjoyable but also prevents the feeling of being stuck in a rut.
2. Passion for Physical Activity: Exercise has always been a big part of my life, and I enjoy sharing its benefits with others. Becoming a personal trainer allows me to channel that joy into a career where I can motivate and inspire clients to lead healthier, more active lifestyles. Whether it's leading a small group training session people new to the fitness world, coaching experienced individuals one-on-one, or designing personalized workout plans, I find fulfillment in helping people discover the joy of movement and reach their fitness goals.
3. Wanting to Make a Difference: Making a positive impact on others is incredibly rewarding for me. As a personal trainer, I have the opportunity to empower individuals to take control of their health and transform their lives for the better. Whether it's helping someone lose weight, gain strength, or improve their overall well-being, the satisfaction of seeing my clients progress and achieve their goals is awesome. Knowing that I've played a role in their success drives me to continue pushing myself and my clients.
4. Flexibility in Work Schedule: Having the flexibility to create my own schedule was a major draw for me in choosing this career. As a personal trainer, I can work early mornings, late evenings, or weekends to accommodate both my clients' needs and my personal commitments. This flexibility not only allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance but also gives me the freedom to spend time with my family and friends.
5. Wide Variety of Clients: As a personal trainer, I'm honored to work closely with clients, fostering trust and respect. Whether it's hearing their concerns, cheering their wins, or offering motivation, I treasure guiding them through their fitness journey, ensuring they feel valued and empowered.
6. Belief in Preventative Health: I firmly believe that prevention is key when it comes to maintaining good health. As a personal trainer, I educate my clients on the importance of regular exercise, proper nutrition, and other lifestyle factors that contribute to overall well-being. By instilling these habits, I can help my clients reduce their risk of chronic diseases, improve their quality of life, and enjoy long-term health.
7. Excitement for a Fulfilling Career: Above all, I'm excited to have found a career that allows me to combine my passions with purpose. Being a personal trainer isn't just a job to me; it's a calling—(super tacky, i know) a chance to make a positive impact on the lives of others while doing something I truly love. Every day brings new challenges, opportunities for growth, and moments of fulfillment as I help my clients become the best versions of themselves.
